Well today I went jumping at the school today. This time went to the tennis courts that are right next to the school. I used some rope and made a jump platform. I tied the rope at a corner of the metal fence to make the platform. I had the platform about 7 feet off the ground. It was fun jumping at the tennis courts. Now I can easily move the rope higher for better testing of the airbag. I think the next time I go to the place again I will tie the platform a little higher than before. I will still make sure that I am safe at all times. I am hopping that by the next time I go jumping I will have my truck with me. Then I can put for stuff in the truck and take it with me when I go jumping again.

Well a few days ago I went to the school and did some jumping. The wind was blowing real; hard but I had the airbag tied down so it would not blow away. I must have done about 15 to 20 falls. I might head back out there tonight. I am going to try jumping from a little higher up than I did the other day. I think the airbag will hold my weight.

Well yesterday I was at the local school. This time I brought my other airbag and did some falls into it. I also did many falls barepawed. There was a few inches of snow on the ground but I did not mind it to much. In between falls I wold put my shoes on tell they warmed up. Then I would lime up the equipment and take my shoes off and jump again. I had a blast at the school.

The New Airbag

Well yesterday was a drag. I went to the local grade school to test out my new airbag. The only prop was that it was WAY to windy. The wind blew the airbag around to much and I was not able to test it out. I was only able to get one quick test from about 1 foot from the center of the bag. The one just was great the landing was soft and I did not bounce much at all.

Today I went out again to the school to test the airbag out. This time the weather was just misting. I did not think much about it at the time. I did a few falls from 1 foot and everything was good. The landing was nice and soft and again I did not bounce very much. I just need to do a little more work to the vents. Right now they are not opening like I want them to. I think I still have to much Velcro on the vents. I am going to add just a few small strips to the vents and hope that will work. I also need to do a little bit more to the webbing system inside that airbag. I just need to tape down the lines a little bitter and added a few more lines inside.

Now back to the weather and testing the bag. After a few more falls from 1 foot from the center I decided to try from higher up. I started falling from about 3 feet from the bag. When I jumped it was from a squatting position. That way my body was not hitting the bag with much force. Again the landing was nice and soft and still very little bounce. After about 2 more falls I decided to jump standing up. I did a few falls barefooted and I had fun. After about 3 more falls from standing up I checked the airbag to see if anything was wrong. I found out that do to the weather some of the tape I had on the airbag was coming lose and apart. Part of the inflating tube was coming apart and one of the vents. I just need to dry off the airbag and retape the parts that need to be redone. When the weather gets good again I will take the airbag out and test it some more. Right now the airbag is working the way I want it to. Once I fix what is needed I have a great feeling that the airbag will work the way I want it to and I will be able to do the 10 foot falls like I want to.

Well I am almost done with the airbag. Yesterday I added the webbing system inside the airbag. So far it looks better than I had thought. The top of the airbag is much flatter then it was before. This is that when I land in the center of the bag I will be less likely to roll or bounce off the bag. The only thing that is left is tapeing a few inside seams and I will be ready to test the airbag out.

Well I have been doing a little more work on my airbag. So far the only thing I need to do today is finish 2 more vents and I will be done for the day. Monday I am going to add a webbing system to the airbag. This will make the top of the airbag a little flatter and safer to land on. This will also make the airbag less round so it will not roll when I hit the center. I am hopping that this Mon I will take the airbag and give it a good testing.

Well once again I was at the local grade school. This time I was using my other airbag and not the one that I had made. I was doing a few different falls from about 8 feet high. This is nothing to me after the last few days of falling 22 foot onto a stack of large foam mats. This will also be my last day of doing falls tell the new year. I must have done about 20 falls into the bag. I was 3 different falls into the bag. I was doing backwards fall, body twist fall and the header. I would have done a suicide but the platform I was jumping off of was a bit wet and I did not have that great of a stance to jump from. All in all I still had a nice night of jumping and landing on the airbag.

My airbag testing

Well today I went to the local grade school to test out my new homemade airbag. I set it up under a long bar that was about 7 feet high. After the airbag was inflated I walked around it to make sure that everything was OK with it. Then I moved the airbag so that the center of the bag was right under the bar. I then got on the bar and slide so that I was right over the center. Then I spun around and was hanging upside down so that my back was just a few feet from the center of the bag. I let go and landed safely in the center. I did this 2 times before rolling the airbag up and packing it away.

I noticed that there is still a few things that I need to do before I do any real tests with the airbag. First is I have a few seams that I would like to tape a little better so that they do not rip when I land. Also I need to do something with the inflating tube. When I land it disconnects from the blower and that is not good. Also I noticed that I used to much velcro so I will need to remove some of it. If I do all this over the next few day I will head back to the school and do some real testing of the airbag. I am hopping that I can do a 10 foot fall and land safely in the center.

More Highfalls

Well once again I was at the high school doing more highfalls off the building. This time I must have done about 30 falls last night. I did it tell I felt tired and a bit wobbely. That is my way of telling me that I need to stop and go home to get some sleep. I was not able to bring the camera with for I could not find it. Well When I got back home from jumping I found the camera and will bring it with me again to take some video and pics of me falling off the building.

I will not be doing that many highfalls off the building for I have an airbag to test out. Yes I have been making yet another again to land on. This will be my 4th airbag to make. This one is a bit different for I am using extrnal vents rantehr then the normal hole in the side and a flap taped inside of it. I am hopping that with this new airbag I will beable to do 10 foot falls into it. The new airbag is 10 feet wide 15 feet long and a bit over 4 feet high. I will be heading over to a grade school to test it out and get more pics and video of me testing it out.

Well last night was fun. I went to the local high school and did some highfalls off a building that was there. I first got a bunch of large foam mats from the shed that was close to the building I was jumping off of. My landing area was 2 layers of foam mats. The first I used 3 pole vault mats. It was 15 feet wide and 21 feet long and 2.5 feet thick. The 2nd layer was 4 foam mats that was 12 feet wide and 16 feet long and 2 feet thick. I also had 2 layers of a large foam cover over the top of the mats. I also tied all the mats together so that they would not split apart when I jumped off the roof of the building.

Then I had to make a platform to get to the roof. I wanted to use a ladder but they did not have one sitting out. So I ended up using a few wooden boxes and some wood planks to make a platform to get to the roof. The platform was nice and sold for I tied everything down.

Now that I am up on the edge of the roof looking down my landing area being 22 feet away. My landing area looked like a large movie poster. I ended up doing about 9 heads and one body twist fall. A few times I landed in the center and went between the mats but still landed safely. I was stuck for a few min wiggling around trying to get myself free :)
